EVENTS 2023

WE ARE HAVING A STALL AT THE CHAPELTOWN FORUM CHRISTMAS FAYRE ON SAT. 2nd DECEMBER 2023 - come and find us and have a chat!

(All our events are free but we do ask anyone who is able to donate something to help us to pay for prizes and craft materials)

Next year, 2024, our usual monthly Saturday morning events are having to be reduced to just four as there is no one to plan and run them. The reason being that the Secretary has had to step down for health reasons.

The popular Chapeltown Park Gala – normally held at the beginning of July for the last 11 years, will also have to be cancelled for the same reason. 

One of our Trustees has kindly agreed to run the 4 events, (Easter Egg Hunt, the dog show; the mini-beast hunt and Halloween). This means no more kite flying, no brass band concerts and no Gala.

There are so many possible events which could be held in our lovely park – for instance

- A pop concert (we had a great Mick Jagger tribute one in the past 

- Grass sledging?

- Sat. morning Park run?

- BMX competition on the BMX pump track 

- Tree & plant identification/poetry group

- Bird/bat/fungi trail

- Planting/gardening group

- Kids crafts/treasure hunts/etc, etc

All it needs is for someone to plan and organise the event(s). We could help with fundraising, risk assessment and Council approval.
